WEST HAVEN — A man was fatally stabbed at a local bar in West Haven early Wednesday morning following an altercation, prompting an ongoing investigation by the West Haven Police Department.
Police responded to multiple 911 calls around 2:05 a.m. reporting a stabbing at a bar on the 600 block of Campbell Avenue.
Officers found a male victim with a stab wound to the front of his body.
West Haven Fire/Rescue personnel arrived shortly after and administered life-saving techniques.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police believe the incident was isolated to the individuals involved, and there is no ongoing threat to the general public.
The area around the bar was cordoned off as the West Haven Police Detective Division took over the investigation.
