Two-vehicle crash in Waterbury leads to DUI arrest

WATERBURY — A two-vehicle collision on Stowe St near Main St resulted in a DUI arrest on Nov. 7 at 5:04 p.m., according to Vermont State Police.

The crash involved a 2021 Toyota Rav-4, operated by Cassidy Murdock, 23, from Sharon, and a 2021 Toyota 4-Runner driven by Erik Warnstedt, 49, of Waterbury.

Both vehicles sustained damage, with the Rav-4 showing significant impact on the front driver’s side corner and the 4-Runner damaged on the driver’s side.

Neither driver reported injuries at the scene.

Following the incident, Murdock fled the scene but was later located by authorities at an address on Railroad St in Waterbury.

Upon further investigation, police determined that Murdock was under the influence of intoxicants while operating the vehicle.

Murdock was apprehended and processed at the Berlin Barracks.

After being processed, Murdock was released with a citation to appear in Washington Superior Court – Criminal Division on charges related to the incident.
