Motorcyclist killed in Stamford crash

STAMFORD — A fatal motorcycle accident is under investigation by the Stamford Police Department’s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad, officials said Thursday.

The incident occurred on Long Ridge Road near Brook Run Lane at approximately 12:10 a.m. where a 2014 BMW motorcycle, traveling northbound, veered off the road, striking a fence and then a tree.

The operator of the motorcycle, 44-year-old Stamford resident Heber Lopez, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Sgt. Jeffrey Booth and Officer Lindsey Yanicky are conducting the ongoing investigation.
