Hyde Park man arrested for Johnson store burglary

JOHNSON — A break-in at the Get Yours store in Johnson on Nov. 2 led to the arrest of a Hyde Park man, according to the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department.

Authorities received a call reporting that the store’s front door, valued at over $2,000, had been damaged during the burglary.

An investigation quickly ensued, culminating in the arrest of 44-year-old Kory Rooney.

Rooney faces charges of Burglary and possession of Burglary tools.

He was lodged at the Northeast Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,500 bail.

Following his arrest, Rooney was arraigned in Lamoille County Court on Nov. 7 at 12:30 p.m.

The sheriff’s department has not released further details about the items stolen or the extent of the damage to the property.
