Holyoke police arrest two after foot chase, seize drugs and firearm

HOLYOKE — Two 20-year-old men were arrested early Nov. 6 after a brief foot pursuit during a property check by Holyoke Police Department officers at 527 S Summer St.

The individuals, identified as Jose Lopez and Bruce Bonilla, were not residents of the address.

Upon discovery, a chase ensued, leading to their capture and arrest.

Lopez faces multiple charges, including possession of a Class B substance, possession with intent to distribute, disorderly conduct, and conspiracy to violate the drug law.

Bonilla’s charges are more severe, including possession of a Class A substance, possession with intent to distribute, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without an FID card, receiving stolen property under $1,200, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, and conspiracy to violate the drug law.

Both suspects are currently being held as the investigation continues.
