BOSTON — Three individuals were taken into custody early Thursday morning after a traffic stop led to the discovery of a loaded firearm and narcotics in Dorchester.

Boston Police Department officers assigned to District B-2 in Roxbury were patrolling near Columbia Road and Washington Street around 2:45 a.m. when they spotted a vehicle speeding.

The vehicle initially eluded officers but was later located at the intersection of Harvard Street and Washington Street, making an illegal turn.

Upon initiating a traffic stop, the vehicle hesitated before coming to a slow stop at 508 Park Street.

The officers approached the vehicle, which contained an operator and four passengers, and requested identification.

The operator, who was unable to provide vehicle registration for the rental car, and the front passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, were both asked to identify themselves.

A subsequent search of the vehicle occupants yielded nothing, but officers discovered a Beretta M9 with seven rounds in the magazine during a vehicle search.

Additionally, four plastic bags of crack cocaine were found.

A 17-year-old juvenile male was arrested and charged with multiple firearm and ammunition offenses, as well as receiving stolen property.

Amani Ogaldez, 21, and Steven Bellamy, 28, both from Boston, were arrested on various charges including possession with intent to distribute and motor vehicle violations.

All three suspects are set to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
