FERDINAND — A single-vehicle rollover crash on VT RT 105 near Lewis Pond Rd left a 79-year-old woman trapped for hours before she was rescued early Thursday morning.

Nan Lack of Bloomfield was driving her 2016 Subaru Forester when she veered off the wet roadway and struck multiple trees, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Emergency services received a report of the incident around 7:54 a.m. on Nov. 6.

The Brighton Fire Department and Newport Ambulance were the first responders at the scene.

They extricated Lack, who was wearing her seat belt, from the wreckage and provided immediate medical assistance.

Lack sustained significant but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to North Country Hospital for treatment.

According to the Vermont State Police, Lack had been stuck in her vehicle for at least three hours before she was found.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but authorities have not released any further details at this time.

The road conditions were reported to be wet under clear weather conditions, which may have contributed to the accident.

The Forester sustained total damage, and no other vehicles were involved in the crash.

State Police continue to examine the circumstances leading to the accident.
