Lyndonville man faces firearms charges after traffic stop

LYNDONVILLE — A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of a local man for illegal possession of a firearm, the Lyndonville Police Department reported.

At 2:40 p.m. on Oct. 11, an officer pulled over a vehicle driven by Andrew Young, 36, on Lynburke Road for a vehicle violation.

During the stop, it was discovered that Young was in possession of an AR-15 style firearm, which he was prohibited from having under Vermont State Law.

The weapon was confiscated by authorities.

Following the incident, Young was cited for the violation and is scheduled to be arraigned at Caledonia Superior Court on Dec. 23 at 8:30 a.m.
