Montville police seek help identifying larceny suspect

MONTVILLE — Montville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a man suspected of larceny at a local Stop and Shop.

The incident occurred when an unidentified male, captured in surveillance images, left the grocery store with unpaid items, including steaks, soup, and a case of Twisted Tea, totaling about $125 in value.

According to the police, the suspect was seen wearing a blue “Trader Joe’s” hoodie and blue jeans.

Following the theft, the individual was confronted by store security but managed to escape into the nearby woods after a brief altercation.

The Montville Police Department is urging anyone with information to come forward to aid in the suspect’s identification and apprehension.

The community’s previous efforts have been pivotal in solving similar crimes, and authorities are hopeful for continued cooperation.
