MEDFORD — A 16-year-old Somerville juvenile was arrested today in connection with a shooting that took place on Boston Avenue last week, Medford police said.
The youth, whose name has not been disclosed due to his age, faces multiple charges in Cambridge Juvenile Court.
The charges include assault with a dangerous weapon, carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a firearm with ammunition, possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and attempted assault by discharge of a firearm.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Nov. 1 at around 1 a.m. Two individuals reportedly fired shots at a victim during an altercation near 364 Boston Avenue.
Although no injuries were reported, officers found a firearm and several shell casings at the scene.
Medford police detectives, with the help of the Massachusetts State Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and the Cambridge Police Department, managed to apprehend the juvenile involved.
The second suspect, identified as 18-year-old Sinai Stephens of Cambridge, remains at large.
The Medford Police Department continues to investigate the incident and is appealing to the public for any information, including home surveillance or dashcam video.
