ST. JOHNSBURY — Troopers with the Vermont State Police detained a transient St. Johnsbury man on a slew of charges including possession of heroin and providing false information to police.
Phillip Greene, 35, was taken into custody around 5:48 p.m. on March 11 after Vermont State Police on patrol recognized him as having an outstanding warrant.
The arrest took place on Memorial Drive, where Greene was found among individuals in two idling vehicles.
The officers confirmed Greene’s identity and the active warrant, leading to his arrest without further incident.
Further investigation revealed that Greene was wanted for possession of heroin, three counts of false information to a police officer, and two counts of violation of conditions of release.
Greene was cited to appear in Caledonia County Superior Court on Nov. 4 at 12:30 p.m. Following his arrest, he was transported to Northeast Correctional Complex and held on $200 bail.
