SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield woman was arrested on domestic assault charges after police responded to an emergency call early Monday morning, according to a press release from the Springfield Police Department.
The police received a 911 call at approximately 5:19 a.m. from a victim reporting that Alicia Plante “beat the crap out of him” and left him with multiple injuries.
Officer Guzzo first met with the victim at Springfield Hospital for an initial assessment.
After a thorough investigation by Officer Guzzo, Sgt. Fitzgibbons, Ofc. Singleton, and Ofc. Callahan, authorities took Plante into custody at 4:05 p.m. without incident.
She was then transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing.
The Windsor County State’s Attorney’s Office was contacted, and a court clerk was reached to discuss Plante’s charges.
Following standard procedure, Plante was fingerprinted, photographed, and issued a criminal citation.
She was also issued conditions for release.
Plante is scheduled to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit in White River Junction on Oct. 29 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the charge of domestic assault.
The Springfield Police Department clarified that they have no authority over bail or incarceration decisions, which are determined by the Judicial System, including judges, court clerks, and the State Attorney’s Office.
