St. Johnsbury man faces multiple charges after aggressive incident on Railroad Street

ST. JOHNSBURY — A local man was arrested Wednesday night on charges including violation of conditions of release, unlawful trespass, and disorderly conduct after an altercation on Railroad Street.

St. Johnsbury Police responded to the scene at 9:15 p.m. where they found Michael D.

Farnsworth, 35, being restrained by three individuals.

Corporal Steven Hartwell identified Farnsworth, who had been aggressive towards people in the area.

The incident escalated when Farnsworth chased two juvenile males into the Champlain Farms Store, a location from which he had been previously banned in July for similar behavior.

Farnsworth was taken into custody and is currently held at the Northeast Regional Correctional Center for furlough violations.

He is scheduled to appear in Caledonia Court on Dec. 9 at 8:30 a.m. regarding the new charges.
