Rhode Island State Police make multiple arrests over the weekend

PROVIDENCE — Multiple arrests were made by the Rhode Island State Police over the weekend, including charges of shoplifting, vandalism, and driving under the influence, authorities said.

On Nov. 1 at 10 a.m., Troopers apprehended Danny Restitullo, 26, of Pawtucket, following the sighting of a pedestrian on Route 95 in Providence.

Restitullo was wanted on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Shoplifting and Vandalism issued by the Pawtucket Police Department.

After processing at the Lincoln Woods Barracks, he was handed over to the Pawtucket authorities.

In a separate incident on the same day and time, Tigua Pona, 48, also of Providence, was arrested in connection with a disabled vehicle on Route 95.

Pona faces charges related to Crank or Obscene Phone Calls, based on a warrant from the Pawtucket Police Department.

Pona too was processed at the Lincoln Woods Barracks before being turned over to Pawtucket Police.

Later that afternoon, at 3 p.m., Kelly Cabral, 38, of East Providence, was arrested on an Affidavit and Arrest Warrant for Receiving Stolen Goods in excess of $1,500, stemming from an investigation at the Lincoln Woods Barracks.

The East Providence Police Department located Cabral, who was subsequently arraigned as a bail/probation violator and transferred to the Adult Correctional Institution – Woman’s Intake Center.

Early the next morning, at 1:10 a.m. on Nov. 2, Carlos Valiente, 20, of Pawtucket, was arrested for Forgery and Counterfeiting of Registration Plates, as well as Giving a False Document to a Public Official during a traffic stop on Route 6 in Providence.

Valiente was processed, arraigned, and released with a date to appear at the Sixth Division District Court.

Only ten minutes later, at 1:20 a.m., another traffic stop on Route 95 led to the arrest of Hector Santos Gordillo, 26, also of Pawtucket.

Gordillo was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor and/or Drugs – First Offense, and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test.

After processing, he was arraigned and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
