Pedestrian dies in Norwood accident, solar glare possible factor

NORWOOD — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday morning at the intersection of Pleasant Street and Garfield Avenue, according to the Norwood Police Department.

The driver involved in the accident remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.

Investigators from the Massachusetts State Police accident reconstruction team have taken over the investigation to determine the cause of the incident.

While there have been no charges filed at this time, witnesses at the scene suggested that solar glare may have played a role in the accident.

The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
