NEEDHAM — A series of incidents kept Needham Police Department officers busy over the past week, with responses to thefts, disturbances, and a potentially dangerous carbon monoxide exposure at a construction site.
On Oct. 21, officers attended to a mailbox theft reported at a Great Plain Ave address around 5 a.m. Later that day, at approximately 7:30 a.m., a break-in was reported on Dedham Ave, with an investigation ongoing.
By midday, officers responded to a medical emergency at a home under construction on the same avenue, where workers were exposed to carbon monoxide.
Multiple exposures were reported, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified.
Shoplifting incidents involved juvenile suspects from Boston, who will face charges for theft and underage alcohol possession after a 4:15 p.m. call to a Highland Ave business on Oct. 21.
Check fraud and additional thefts were reported on Maple St and Evelyn Rd on Oct. 22 and 24.
On the evening of Oct. 24, officers restored peace at a Highland Avenue business disturbance and later investigated a breaking and entering on Chestnut Street.
Neighbor trouble on Yurick Road was documented the same night.
Traffic incidents included a motor vehicle accident on Oct. 24, leading to a criminal citation for a Quincy resident with a revoked vehicle registration.
The following day, a Needham resident crashed into a utility pole on Greendale Avenue and was arrested for operating under the influence.
Juvenile disturbances featured prominently, with several summonses on Howe Road and at Hemlock Gorge Reservation for underage drinking.
A loud gathering on Oct. 25 led to complaints against two Needham adults for providing alcohol to minors.
