WILLIAMSTOWN — A Barre City man was taken into custody after allegedly operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent on Oct. 31.
Vermont State Police responded to a report of a vehicle last spotted on Martin Road in Williamstown around 3:12 p.m. The vehicle, later seen by the complainant on Pleasant Street, was subject to a “Be on the lookout” (BOL) broadcast.
A Windsor County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a traffic violation by the same vehicle and initiated a stop.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Gregory S. Booth from Barre City, was arrested for multiple offenses.
Booth was issued a criminal citation to appear in Orange County Criminal Division to respond to the charges.
The Windsor County Sheriff’s Department and the Vermont State Police received assistance from Game Wardens with the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department.
The owner of the vehicle, 39-year-old Anthony J. Campbell from Berlin, was not present during the incident.
Details of the other offenses Booth was charged with were not immediately available.
