Norwalk police recover stolen city vehicle, juvenile arrested

NORWALK — A stolen vehicle belonging to the City of Norwalk has been recovered and a 17-year-old suspect has been arrested, the Norwalk Police Department announced Tuesday.

The 2010 Ford Crown Victoria, assigned to the city’s engineering department, was last seen at City Hall on Oct. 10.

It was reported stolen and later involved in a “Street Take Over” on Oct. 19.

Following an investigation, detectives established probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant for the juvenile, who was taken into custody on Oct. 26 without incident.

The young offender is now facing charges of larceny of a motor vehicle and criminal mischief in the first degree.

After the arrest, the juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Bridgeport.
