NAUGATUCK — A domestic dispute call led to a Naugatuck man’s arrest on multiple gun and drug charges Monday night.
Naugatuck Police responded to a 911 call at 48 Perock Lane at about 7:47 p.m. where they found 42-year-old Mark Rich and an adult female.
During the investigation, officers learned Rich had tried to prevent the woman from calling 911 during an argument.
While inside the home, officers spotted firearms and evidence of cannabis cultivation.
A search-and-seizure warrant later allowed detectives to confiscate various firearms, including parts like lower receivers used to manufacture guns, high-capacity magazines, ammunition, and an assembled AR-15-style rifle.
Several firearms lacked serial numbers, making them illegal to possess.
Authorities also discovered suspected ecstasy tablets, dried marijuana plants, grow tents, and cultivation equipment in the basement, indicating an operation to grow cannabis.
Rich, who is a convicted felon and thus barred from owning firearms, was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, possession of high-capacity magazines, violation of firearms manufacturing laws, cultivation of cannabis, disorderly conduct, and interference with an emergency call.
He is being held on a $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Oct. 29.
