ORANGE — Vermont State Police arrested a 64-year-old man on charges of domestic assault after responding to a family fight Tuesday afternoon.
Troopers were called to a private residence in Orange at about 2:31 p.m. An investigation at the scene determined that Harland Manning had inflicted physical pain on a family member, according to police reports.
Manning was taken into custody and transported to the Berlin Barracks for processing.
He was issued conditions of release and is scheduled to appear in Orange County Superior Court—Criminal Division on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.
The Vermont State Police did not release the name of the victim, in keeping with their policy on cases of sexual assault or domestic violence.
