WATERFORD — Police are calling on the community to assist in identifying a suspect involved in the theft of $73 worth of dinner meats from the local Stop and Shop on Oct. 23.
According to the Waterford Police Department, the individual in question entered the grocery store, selected the meats, and left the premises without paying.
The suspect was then seen entering the passenger side of a vehicle, which has been identified by its license plate.
The department has issued a reminder to the public that when a vehicle with a visible plate is involved in a crime, the following steps are taken: the plate is noted, it is run through their system, and follow-up investigations are conducted regarding the owner of the vehicle.

The authorities believe the suspect to be local and are appreciative of any assistance the community can provide, including sharing the police post to aid in the suspect’s identification.
