SWANTON — A local man has been charged with simple assault following an incident that took place early Monday morning.
Vermont State Police were called to 1 Lakeview Dr. at approximately 6:35 a.m. after receiving a report of an assault.
Upon arrival, officers learned that Corey Wood, 30, of Georgia, had been attacked and subsequently transported to Northwestern Medical Center with minor injuries.
The investigation pointed to Scott Taylor, 31, of Swanton, as the assailant.
Taylor was issued a citation and is scheduled to appear in the Franklin County Superior Court on Nov. 26 at 8:30 a.m. to respond to the charge.
