Enfield man charged with DUI after crash leaves one seriously injured

ENFIELD — A two-SUV collision at the intersection of Palomba Drive and Cranbrook Boulevard resulted in serious injuries and an arrest on Monday evening.

The Enfield Police Department’s Traffic Division reported that the accident occurred at around 5:19 p.m. involving a white SUV operated by Todd Cruickshank, 25, of Enfield, and a blue SUV driven by Katherine Peterson, 73, of Broad Brook.

Cruickshank was taken into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as per Connecticut General Statute 14-227a, and for drug paraphernalia in violation of statute 21a-267(a).

Peterson was transported to Baystate Medical Center with suspected serious injuries following the crash.

The current condition of Peterson has not been disclosed.

Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation with the assistance of the METRO Traffic Services Regional Traffic Team.

Officer Peterson, who is not related to the injured driver, is leading the inquiry.

The Enfield Police are calling on the public for any information or dashcam footage related to the incident.
