SPRINGFIELD — In the midst of a reported altercation on Myrtle St., Springfield police arrested Billie Jo Wilder for possession of cocaine, driving with a criminally suspended license, and providing false information to an officer, according to a press release issued by the department.

The incident occurred on Oct. 9 at approximately 1:58 p.m., when officers responded to calls of a fight in progress.

By the time authorities arrived, the individuals involved had dispersed, with some fleeing the scene.

An investigation into the dispute, which centered around a bag, led to the discovery that Wilder had arrived at the location driving on a criminally suspended license.

A consent search of her vehicle yielded drug paraphernalia and a substance suspected to be cocaine.

Wilder allegedly attempted to mislead officers during the investigation, resulting in the additional charge of providing false information to a police officer.

Following her arrest, Wilder was processed at the Springfield Police Department.

She has been issued a criminal citation to appear before the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, in the Windsor Unit on Dec. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
