PUTNEY — A Connecticut man escaped injury Sunday after his vehicle left Interstate 91 and struck multiple signs at a weigh station, state police said.
The crash occurred around 12:38 p.m. near mile marker 22 in the southbound lanes, according to Vermont State Police from the Westminster barracks.
George G. Ducharme, 82, of Granby, Connecticut, was driving a 2017 Lexus NX when it veered off the road and collided with signs at the Putney Weigh Station, troopers said.
Ducharme was wearing a seat belt and was not injured in the crash.
His vehicle sustained total damage.
The incident happened under clear skies with dry road conditions, according to the police report.
Authorities said the cause of the single-vehicle crash remains under investigation.
