NEWPORT — North Country Hospital emergency department charge nurse Eilish Quirion has been named the hospital’s first-ever DAISY Award recipient, recognizing her commitment to clinical excellence and compassionate patient care.
Quirion, an eight-year veteran of the hospital, was selected from among 12 nominees following the introduction of the national nurse recognition program by Chief Nursing Officer Denise Carter earlier this year.
The DAISY Award, a nationwide program celebrating exceptional nurses, honors healthcare professionals who demonstrate outstanding clinical skill while delivering compassionate care to patients. As part of her recognition, Quirion received a commemorative banner, certificate, DAISY Award pin, and a hand-carved stone sculpture titled “A Healer’s Touch.”
North Country Hospital joins thousands of healthcare facilities across the country participating in the DAISY Award program, which provides a structured way to recognize nurses who go above and beyond in their daily work.
