MONTPELIER — Following a disturbance reported on Oct. 26 at around 5:48 p.m., the Montpelier Police Department arrested a juvenile connected to a burglary and subsequent assault on Main Street.
Officers responded to multiple calls about a chaotic incident involving several people, some of whom were intoxicated minors, near 34 Main St.
The investigation revealed that the juveniles had burglarized a property at 64 Main St. Shortly after, a fight broke out between the juveniles and an adult outside 34 Main St.
During the officers’ investigation, one juvenile assaulted an adult female by punching her in the face.
The assailant was apprehended and faces charges of burglary and larceny from a person, both felonies, as well as simple assault, unlawful mischief, and underage drinking.
While in custody, the juvenile further damaged a police cruiser by kicking it repeatedly.
Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
