Man arrested for DUI after truck found blocking road in Barnet

BARNET — A 20-year-old Barnet man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Sunday after state police found his truck blocking an intersection.

Vermont State Police troopers on patrol discovered a white 2019 Ford F250 parked in the middle of the roadway at the intersection of Bridge Street and U.S.

Route 5 in Barnet at approximately 1:05 a.m. on Oct. 27.

Upon investigation, troopers identified the operator as Beau Despins, 20, of Barnet.

Further investigation revealed that Despins was impaired, according to police.

Despins was arrested for suspicion of DUI and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

He was later released with a citation to appear in court at a later date.

The incident remains under investigation by the Vermont State Police.
