LINCOLN — A Warwick man was arrested Thursday for allegedly cheating at a Rhode Island casino, state police said.

Michael J. Budz, 32, faces one count of casino cheating after his arrest by the Gaming Enforcement Unit at 3:15 p.m. on Oct. 26, according to Capt.

Chabot, assistant detective commander.

Authorities accuse Budz of attempting to place, increase, decrease, cancel or remove a bet with knowledge of the outcome, Chabot said.

Budz, of 815 Sandy Lane, Apartment 109, in Warwick, was processed at the Lincoln Barracks.

He was released on personal recognizance after appearing before a bail commissioner.

The Rhode Island State Police Gaming Enforcement Unit is responsible for investigating illegal activities at the state’s casinos.
