BELLOWS FALLS –– The Bellows Falls Terriers used a powerful ground game to knock off the North Country Falcons Friday night. The Terriers, Division two’s second seed, controlled the clock and the scoreboard as they improved to 7-2 on the fall season.
Senior quarterback Eli Albee had a monster game for BF as he rushed for four touchdowns and passed for another. Albee scored from the 5 yard line and the 23 in the first quarter staking the home team to a 14-0 lead.
After that Falcon tailback Gage Beaumont went in from the four on a bruising gallop.
Albee answered that tally as they ran a 65 drive in eight plays culminating the ensuing drive to pay dirt from a 13 yard burst for the score.
The Terriers added a pair of touchdowns in the third and fourth quarter as they pulled away. They finished with 278 yards on the ground during the evening.
BF running back Carson Clark racked up 113 yards on 14 carries while adding a touchdown plunge from the one.
North Country, which closes the books with a 3-6 record produced 77 yards rushing as well as 77 yards passing including two outstanding catches by junior Kamryn Huntington.
Bellows Falls will host number 3 seed Fair Haven next Friday night with a 7 o’clock kickoff.
