BOSTON — A 15-year-old male was arrested Friday in connection with an armed robbery that occurred two days earlier in Dorchester, police said.
Officers from the Boston Police Department’s District B-3 apprehended the suspect around 12:53 p.m. near Harvard Street and Vesta Road.
The juvenile, who was not identified due to his age, attempted to flee but was quickly caught in a nearby alley.
During the pursuit, officers observed the suspect discard a firearm.
Two replica firearms were recovered along the suspect’s flight path, according to police.
The arrest stems from an armed robbery reported at 12:02 p.m. Wednesday at 613 Park Street.
Police said the suspect displayed a firearm and stole $600 from the register before fleeing and discarding clothing on Norwell Street.
At the time of his arrest, the juvenile was wanted for armed robbery while masked.
He is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court.
The investigation is ongoing, and police have not released additional details about the incident or the suspect.
