Juvenile arrested for DUI after single-vehicle crash in Danville

DANVILLE — A 19-year-old from Walden was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night in Danville, Vermont State Police said.

Troopers responded to a report of a crash near the intersection of West Shore Road and U.S.

Route 2 at approximately 9 p.m. on Oct. 26, 2024.

Upon arrival, they identified the driver as a juvenile from Walden.

While speaking with the operator, troopers observed signs of impairment.

The driver was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.

The 2014 GMC Sierra driven by the suspect was totaled in the crash.

No injuries were reported.

The juvenile was released with a citation to appear at the Caledonia Family Court on Nov. 14 at 12:30 p.m. to face charges of DUI and negligent operation.

Weather conditions were clear at the time of the incident, and the road was dry, according to police.
