Two injured in shooting at Connecticut social club

ANSONIA — Two men were shot early Saturday at a social club in Ansonia, leaving one in critical condition, police said.

Officers responded to the Saint Sebastian Club at 130 Father Salemi Drive around 2:30 a.m. Oct. 26 for reports of a shooting.

They found a 27-year-old Ansonia man with multiple gunshot wounds to his torso.

He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

A second victim, a 26-year-old Ansonia man, was later discovered with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his buttocks.

He was also taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police had initially been called to the club around 2 a.m. for a disturbance involving a party and a fight between unknown individuals.

The participants had left before officers arrived.

The shooting occurred shortly after police departed the scene.

Detectives are investigating the incident and working to identify potential witnesses.
