BOSTON — A 46-year-old New Bedford man was arrested Friday in connection with a stabbing incident in Boston’s South End neighborhood.
At 2:48 p.m., officers from District D-4 responded to a report of a stabbing at 474 Massachusetts Avenue.
They found an adult male victim with multiple stab wounds and provided immediate medical assistance.
Boston Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The victim is expected to survive.
Police arrested Nathaniel Almeida after spotting him near Gage Street and Northampton Street.
He matched the description provided by Boston Police Operations.
Officers noted Almeida had a laceration on his arm and took him to a hospital.
Almeida faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, threat to commit a crime, and intimidation of a witness.
He is scheduled for arraignment in Boston Municipal Court.
The incident remains under investigation by the Boston Police Department.
