BROWNINGTON — Vermont State Police are investigating the theft of a camper from a Brownington property that occurred in the early morning hours of Oct. 14.

According to police, the 2000 Sunline TL camper was stolen from a property on Chilafoux Road around 4:30 a.m. The white camper, which features a blue stripe and Vermont license plate AMH712, contained solar panels at the time of the theft.

Investigators determined a truck was used in the theft, which resulted in damage to the property’s gate. Police believe a piece of plywood that had been on top of the camper may have fallen onto the roadway during the incident.

The theft wasn’t reported until Oct. 20, when state police responded to the scene to collect evidence and conduct interviews.
