Suspect charged in Starksboro vehicle thefts

STARKSBORO — Vermont State Police arrested a Hinesburg man Wednesday in connection with multiple vehicle thefts in Starksboro.

Anthony Seagroves, 32, faces two counts of grand larceny after authorities recovered over $1,000 worth of stolen items from each of two vehicles.

The thefts were reported to police at 7:08 a.m. on Oct. 23, 2024.

Stolen property included medical equipment, Apple electronic devices, forms of identification and a firearm, according to police.

Hinesburg Police Department located a stolen vehicle containing the items taken from Starksboro.

They identified Seagroves as the suspect and arrested him.

In addition to the grand larceny charges, Hinesburg police charged Seagroves with criminal possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, violation of conditions of court-ordered release and unlawful trespass.

Seagroves was lodged at Northwest Correctional Facility on $2,000 bail.

He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court Criminal Division of Addison County on Jan. 6, 2025, at 12:30 p.m.

The victims were identified as Joseph Buonincantro, 49, and Barry Longe, 28, both of Starksboro.
