Man charged with second offense OUI following early morning crash

MILFORD — A Milford man faces multiple charges, including a second offense OUI, after crashing into a utility pole early Friday morning.

Marcos Acero Bunay, 38, was arrested around 3:39 a.m. after allegedly attempting to flee the scene of the crash on Dilla Street, police said.

The Milford Public Safety Communications Center received several 911 calls reporting the crash.

Responding officers found a blue Cadillac XTS with heavy front-end damage at the scene.

Police said Acero Bunay tried to flee on foot but was apprehended after a brief struggle.

He was taken to Milford Police Headquarters to await arraignment at Milford District Court later Friday.

Acero Bunay, who is currently on probation for a previous OUI charge, faces charges including:

– OUI-liquor or .08%, second offense
– Negligent operation of a motor vehicle
– Marked lanes violation
– Operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended for OUI

The crash caused severe traffic congestion throughout the town, officials said.
