Man charged with domestic assault, unlawful restraint in Salisbury

SALISBURY — A 25-year-old Essex man faces multiple charges following a domestic violence incident in Salisbury, authorities said Wednesday.

Skylar Allen surrendered to Vermont State Police at the Williston Barracks on Tuesday after an investigation into an incident that occurred Monday night at a Salisbury residence, according to police.

Allen is charged with aggravated domestic assault, domestic assault in the presence of a child, unlawful restraint and criminal threatening.

State police from the New Haven Barracks were alerted to the incident at 9:21 p.m. Tuesday.

Details of the alleged assault were not released, and police did not identify the victim, citing policy on domestic violence cases.

Allen was processed at the barracks and released with a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Addison County Criminal Division, at 12:30 p.m. on Nov. 18.
