WATERTOWN — A 19-year-old Boston man faces multiple charges following an alleged stabbing at a bus stop in Watertown, officials said Tuesday.
Michael McGhee was arraigned in Waltham District Court on charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Watertown Police Chief Justin Hanrahan announced.
The incident occurred Sunday, Oct. 22, at approximately 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Mt.
Auburn and Boylston streets.
Police responded to 911 calls reporting a disturbance and found a man with facial injuries and two lacerations on his back consistent with stab wounds.
The victim told police he was waiting for a bus when a vehicle passed by several times before stopping nearby.
Three masked men allegedly exited the vehicle, approached him, and began assaulting him after asking where he was from.
One of the assailants reportedly stabbed him twice in the back during the attack.
The suspects fled in their vehicle two minutes later.
The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.
McGhee was ordered held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing scheduled for Nov. 1.
The charges against him include assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shod foot), assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife), assault with a dangerous weapon (knife), and conspiracy.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
