GREENLAND — Two people were seriously injured in a head-on crash that temporarily closed all southbound lanes on Interstate 95.
The accident occurred just after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23, when State Troopers from the Troop A barracks responded to a rollover crash on I-95 South in Greenland.
Upon arrival, they discovered that a vehicle had crossed the median from the northbound lanes and collided head-on with another vehicle heading south.
Both drivers, who were alone in their vehicles, sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
They were transported to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment.
The crash led to the shutdown of all southbound lanes on I-95 for about an hour as the scene was investigated and debris cleared.
One lane remained closed for an additional 30 minutes to allow for the cleanup of residual debris.
State Troopers received assistance from the Greenland Police Department, Greenland Fire Department, North Hampton Fire & Rescue, and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
Authorities have not released the names of the drivers involved and no charges have been filed at this time.
The crash is still under investigation.
Anyone with information that may help the investigation is encouraged to contact Trooper Patrick Vetter at (603) 271-3636.
