Rhode Island task force arrests four individuals on various charges

PROVIDENCE — Members of different task forces in Rhode Island conducted a series of arrests on Oct. 23, apprehending individuals on charges ranging from felony assault to drug possession.

The Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force took Tyler Bagley, 34, into custody on an outstanding warrant for felony domestic assault, domestic vandalism, and domestic disorderly conduct issued by the Cranston Police Department.

Bagley, a resident of Cranston, also faced a federal probation violation.

After his arrest, he was taken to the Pawtucket Police Department for processing and then to the Cranston Police Department for arraignment.

In a separate operation, the Gaming Enforcement Unit arrested Adam Landes, 44, of East Greenwich, for possession of a controlled substance.

Landes was processed at the Lincoln Barracks and appeared in Third District Court for arraignment.

The High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force also made an arrest on the same day, detaining Jose Amparo Pena Gomez, 43, from New Bedford, Massachusetts.

Gomez was charged with carrying a pistol without the required license or permit.

He was processed at the Lincoln Barracks, given a special arraignment by a Justice of the Peace, and released with a future court date in the Sixth District Court.

Lastly, Joshua Torres, 26, of Providence, was apprehended by the Rhode Island Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Hope Valley Barracks.

Torres had an outstanding warrant for escape from correctional institutions.

He was taken to the ACI Intake Service Center to await arraignment in Third District Court.
