NORTH HAVEN — After a months-long investigation sparked by cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, North Haven detectives arrested 21-year-old James Jaekle on charges of possessing child sexual abuse material.

The investigation began in May when the police department received multiple tips from NCMEC.

The tips indicated that a suspect, who was later identified as Jaekle, was allegedly viewing and sharing child pornography.

Through meticulous investigative work, detectives were able to secure an arrest warrant for Jaekle.

On Oct. 18, Jaekle was taken into custody without incident on an active arrest warrant.

Jaekle faces charges of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material in the Third Degree.

Following his arrest, he was released after posting a court-set bond of $100,000.

The North Haven Police Department continues to work closely with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to combat the proliferation of child exploitation material.
