REVERE — The Revere Police Department, in cooperation with multiple law enforcement agencies, executed a search warrant today at a local residence, resulting in the seizure of narcotics and an untraceable firearm, commonly known as a “ghost gun.”
The Revere Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU), alongside the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department, Everett Police Department, and North Metro SWAT, carried out the warrant at 42 Madison Street following a narcotics investigation by the RPD SIU with help from the Winthrop Police Department.
During the operation, detectives discovered illegal drugs, a privately manufactured firearm without a serial number, and additional magazines and ammunition.
This incident marks the first case in Revere to be prosecuted under the state’s newly enacted Firearms Law, which bans ghost guns.
Timmy Hem, a 29-year-old Revere resident, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including the illegal possession with intent to distribute Class B substances such as crack cocaine and Suboxone, as well as various firearm-related violations.
Hem is slated for arraignment today in Chelsea District Court, where he will face charges for the illegal possession of a firearm without an FID card, possession or control of an untraceable firearm during the commission of a felony, illegal possession of ammunition without an FID card, and improper storage of a firearm.
