North Kingstown police seek help finding missing woman

NORTH KINGSTOWN — The North Kingstown Police Department issued a call for assistance from the public in their search for a missing adult female, Julia McKay, last seen on the evening of Oct. 22.

Julia McKay, a white female standing approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing around 165 pounds with brown hair and eyes, was reported missing after she was not seen since around 6:30 p.m. on Cold Springs Lane, off Boston Neck Road.

She was wearing a dark sweatshirt, camouflage t-shirt, yellow stretch pants, and purple sneakers at the time of her disappearance.

The 49-year-old is known to frequent various waterways in North Kingstown.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about McKay’s location to contact the North Kingstown Police at (401)294-3311.

The police department has released a recent photograph of McKay to aid in her identification and encourage community members to come forward with any relevant information.

Captain John K. MacCoy Jr., Operations Captain of the North Kingstown Police Department, is overseeing the search operations.

The department remains hopeful that with the public’s help, McKay will be located swiftly and safely.
