EDEN — A single-vehicle crash late Tuesday night resulted in DUI and other charges for a Lowell man, according to Vermont State Police.

Authorities responded to a report of a crash on VT Route 100 near the Eden-Lowell town line at around 9:32 p.m. They discovered a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe crashed into an embankment on the east side of the road.

The driver, 26-year-old Caleb Bourdeau, was wearing his seatbelt and suffered apparent minor injuries.

Investigation revealed Bourdeau failed to navigate a right-hand corner, crossed the oncoming lane, and left the roadway.

Upon interacting with Bourdeau, troopers observed signs of impairment and arrested him under the suspicion of DUI.

His vehicle was reported totaled.

Bourdeau, who was already operating with a criminally suspended license due to a prior DUI charge, was taken to the Morrisville Police Department.

He was later released with a citation to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on Nov. 6 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to charges of a second DUI offense and driving with a criminally suspended license.
