SWANTON — A 37-year-old St. Albans man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol following a crash on Sheldon Road near Russell Road on Oct. 21.

State Police, along with AmCare Ambulance and the Swanton Fire Department, responded to the incident involving a single vehicle that failed to navigate a left curve while traveling eastbound on Vermont Route 105.

The 2006 Honda Civic, driven by Cody Kane, veered off the south side of the road, resulting in significant damage consistent with a total loss of the vehicle.

Authorities reported clear and sunny weather conditions with dry road surfaces at the time of the accident.

It is unknown if Kane was wearing his seat belt during the crash, but he did not sustain any injuries.

Following the crash, Kane was taken into custody and transported to the St. Albans State Police Barracks for processing.

He was later released and also received a citation for driving with a suspended driver’s license.
