WELLS RIVER — A man was arrested early Sunday morning after a series of thefts and a vehicle crash in New Hampshire, according to Vermont State Police.

David Gilmore, 46, faces charges of grand larceny, aggravated operation without owner’s consent, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of methamphetamine, criminal DLS, and an instate warrant, following incidents involving local businesses and a vehicle crash.

At approximately 4:36 a.m. on Oct. 20, state police were alerted to the theft of an enclosed trailer from Dad’s 4 By Tool and Supply on Railroad Street.

The investigation led troopers to learn that a Chevy Silverado had also been stolen from Undercover Tents LLC in Bradford and was likely connected to the trailer theft.

While conducting a search, troopers were notified by New Hampshire State Police about the trailer having crashed in their jurisdiction.

The stolen Chevy Silverado was later found at the Bradford Elementary School, where Gilmore was apprehended.

Further investigation revealed Gilmore had stolen lumber from Oakes Brothers and merchandise from Farmway, both located in Bradford, in addition to property from Undercover Tents LLC.

Following his arrest, Gilmore was processed at the St. Johnsbury Barracks.

He was subsequently lodged at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail.
