TEWKSBURY — Tewksbury Police successfully located a male patient who left Tewksbury Hospital without permission on Sunday night, thanks to the collaborative effort of multiple law enforcement agencies.

At approximately 8:05 p.m. on Oct. 20, officers were alerted to the patient’s unauthorized departure from the facility.

The Tewksbury Police Department swiftly launched a search operation that included their drone and K-9 units.

They were joined in their efforts by the Billerica Police K-9 unit, the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, and officers from the Wilmington Police Department.

Despite the extensive search efforts, the individual was not immediately found.

However, the persistent search paid off when, shortly after midnight, Tewksbury officers located the man at the Circle K convenience store.

Further details on the patient’s condition or the reasons for his departure from the hospital have not been released at this time.
