MANCHESTER — Multiple students at Memorial High School reported seeing an individual with a firearm in the school parking lot near the stadium on Oct. 21 at around 8 a.m., prompting a swift response from school officials and police.

The school immediately enacted a “secure campus” protocol while School Resource Officers and additional Patrol Units from the Manchester Police Department located the individual off-campus at a nearby business.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old Tyson Lennartson, who is not a student at Memorial High School, was found in possession of a firearm.

Lennartson has been charged with Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Threatening.

Authorities confirmed that he did not attempt to enter the school, and the “secure campus” status was lifted after approximately 5 minutes.

This incident is considered isolated with no further safety concerns reported.

The Manchester Police Department extended gratitude to the students and staff at Memorial High School, as well as the Manchester School District, for their vigilance and prompt reporting, which facilitated the rapid resolution of the situation.
