Woman cited for shoplifting from Bethel store

BETHEL — A Rochester woman was apprehended Thursday in connection with a retail theft at the “Something Wicked” shop on Main Street.

Vermont State Police reported that on Oct. 16 at around 1 p.m., they were called to investigate a shoplifting incident at the local store.

After a thorough investigation, authorities located 44-year-old Jessica Barakat at her Rochester residence on Oct. 19.

During the investigation, evidence was gathered that implicated Barakat in the theft from “Something Wicked.”

Barakat was subsequently issued a citation to appear in Windsor Superior Court to answer to the charge of retail theft.
